Mandapeshwar caves are a heritage site but to me, it is more like home.

There is something about that place that brings a sense of peace and belonging to me more so ever it holds many childhood memories right from spending evenings there to visiting the caves on Shivratri / Tripuri Poornima.

“Breadfruit. It is breadfruit !!”, was my reaction.

Around a month back, an old childhood friend messaged me stating that there was a plant growing in her backyard and she wanted me to see it. Time flew by and I forgot about it. Suddenly one afternoon last week she again messaged me stating about it so I went to meet her.

The moment I saw it I couldn’t resist smiling.

All I knew about “Dharavi” is that it was one of the most populated and polluted areas of Mumbai. My closest connection to Dharavi was through the movie Slumdog Billionaire but honestly, even then I didn’t pay much attention to it. Today, here I was all set to visit Dharavi.
