Shyaam ki choti choti bhook ke liye ( ditch the ma Shyaam ki choti choti bhook ke liye ( ditch the maggi/ ready made pasta and try something homemade)

Ingredients:
Pasta by @itsprolicious 
Blanched Brocolli
Mixed cherry tomatoes
Boiled yellow corn
Pink salt
My dressing: Mixed pepper fermented sauce (Homemade)

Cook the pasta.
Toss the ingredients together and add in the dressing. Top with toasted sesame seeds.

4 yrs back while getting treated for a sports inju 4 yrs back while getting treated for a sports injury the doctor calmly mentioned " Apart from this injury, You have fibromyalgia too". I was absolutely numb. I just heard him out but the ground had shifted under my feet and yet all my symptoms finally made sense. Little did I know what was in store for me.

Some symptoms like pain, fatigue, chronic headaches had already started but what followed was a roller coaster ride of rapid weight gain, anxiety, low self esteem, chronic widespread crippling pain, fibro flares, and even touch sensitivity. Each day was like walking on an unknown path all alone while knowing the unpredictable nature of the symptoms.

What people saw was a happy smiling adult or a overweight dietitian. What they didn't see was the struggle and efforts it takes to put on the brave face and smile through the pain every single day.( Yup you heard me right. Everyday. I don't remember  last when I had a pain free day) No one could/can see how much it broke/breaks my heart to not do activities that I loved may it be the treks, travels, going for walks or practicing karate. Exercise was and still is a big trigger. So much so that a little bit of kindness, non judgmental attitude and understanding even from a random stranger bought me to tears. 

Sadly, there is no cure to the condition. All one can do is manage the symptoms. Also, there are not many people out there speaking about the struggle you face when you battle #chronicpain or #invisibleillness.

The fisherman said "This is different type of tisr The fisherman said "This is different type of tisrya (clams). They are fuller, delicious and super easy to cook." I knew I had seen these beauties before in one of the cooking shows I watch every now and then. They were "mussels". But I wanted to hear his version. His story. His face was all animated as he shared what he knew. After I picked these beauties up he then ended the conversation with " Aapko bohot dino baad dekha. Jab bhi dekha hai, aap hum logo se bade achche se baat karte ho and saval bhi puchte ho" (Guilty as charged. I am a suckler for good food stories 😅)

Anyways, back to the mussels.

Bought them home, watched a dozen of videos to understand the cleaning and storing part. But I knew what I had to make. The Spanish paella had stolen my heart right from the start. So I made it, my way with the ingredients available at home. 

So heres to good food conversations and a not-so-spanish-paella. 😁

Anyone know any interesting recipe with mussel. Do share it please.

🌱While I agree on the first half of the quote, I think I can make "knowing the melons" part a little easier for you to understand.

🌱Today we are talking about Cantaloupe aka Muskmelon. It's a delicious, refreshing sweet summer fruit that grows on creepers.

🌱Nutritionally it is rich in water, fiber, antioxidants, selenium, vitamin C, Beta carotine, choline, iron, folate etc. It is low in calories and great for skin, hair, immunity, to beat free radicals, 

🌱While purchasing it, always buy from a known local vendor. See that the fruit is kind of symmetrical and without any bruises or cuts. Pick a firm fruit. If it has a hint of green, it may require ripening. But generally a firm fruit is ready in 1-2 days for consumption.

Most parents/ elders are always concerned about the Lil ones growth and development. They will do anything and everything in their power to ensure that the young ones are fit and fine. The last thing on their mind is stepping back to introspect on their own choices/behaviours

That infact should be their first step.
