Most people these days love pizza but the pizza that we get is usually more of bread and less of filling/toppings. To top it if you are gluten intolerant consumption of pizza goes totally out of the picture and that’s exactly when Gluten-free pizza comes to the rescue.
That’s exactly where Bhakri Millet Pizza comes into the picture. It is easy to make, low in calories, more on the fillings/toppings and is gluten-free.
Millet Pizza Recipe:
Ingredients
The Dough
Nachni/Jowar Flour- 1 cup
Salt as per taste
Water for kneading
Oil-2tsp
The Pizza Sauce
Onion- ½ cup
Tomatoes-3/4 cup, blanched and pureed
Tomato ketchup- 1 tbsp
Oregano – ½ Tsp
Thyme-½ Tsp
Paprika-1 Tsp
Sugar-a pinch
Salt to taste
Other Ingredients
Capsicum-1cup, julienne cut
Mushrooms-1/2 cup, sautéed
Paneer – ½ cup, grated
Procedure:
Dough:
- Take flour in a wide vessel and add salt.
- Add water to the flour slowly and knead it into a firm dough.
- Leave it aside for few minutes.
Pizza Sauce:
- Heat oil in a wok.
- Add finely chopped onions. Saute till soft.
- Add the pureed tomato to the onions.
- Finally add oregano, thyme, paprika, and salt.
- Cook till done.
Pizza:
- Roll the dough into small balls and then roll/flatten those balls into a small round disc.
- Heat a pan and place it on it.
- On slow flame let one side of the bhakri get cooked properly when that is done turn it over and let the other side cook.
- While the other side cooks start placing the topping- first add the pizza sauce, layer it with capsicum and sauteed mushroom, and finally add the grated paneer.
- Put a lid and let it cook on a slow flame.
Notes:
- You can use any millet flour to make millet pizza.
- Toppings can be added as per your preference. eg.I like adding in my homegrown microgreens so I’ve added that. Similarly, you can add any veggies/egg/even chicken to it.
